The Delaware Wildlife Area shooting range is a supervised rifle and pistol target range. It also includes an unsupervised clay target shotgun range. Close by is an unsupervised archery target range that includes a scenic walk through shooting course.
The shooting range is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. All ODNR Division of Wildlife ranges are closed on Monday and Tuesday as well as the following dates: Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. The unsupervised hand trap areas for shotguns is only open the same dates and times as the supervised rifle and pistol ranges.
All persons age 18 and older shooting on Class A ranges must purchase a Shooting Range Permit which is available at all hunting & fishing license outlets. Permits are not sold at the shooting ranges. These permits partially offset the cost of the shooting range attendant, restroom facilities, maintenance, trash removal, and improvements.
Shooters age 17 and under are not required to purchase a permit, but must be accompanied by and directly monitored by an adult (age 18 years or older) holding a valid Shooting Range Permit. Legal targets on all shooting ranges are single sheet paper targets only. Shooters must supply their own target holders, which must meet the approval of the shooting range attendant. The shooting of fully automatic firearms, and rapid fire of semi-automatic firearms are strictly prohibited.
Note: All Ranges are subject to closing during inclement weather, or flooding conditions. Range users are advised to contact the range or the nearest Wildlife District Office for range conditions.
